Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
In my FB feed this morning, an ad on BoatTrader for a 50 Hatteras convertible built in the 80s.

In the engine room photos, the DDs are labeled "Thing 1" and "Thing 2". (to be sure, they are Detroits and not Caterpillars, but you get the idea)

I have to ashamedly admit that I never thought of that. However, I will be applying it immediately.*

*With proper accreditation, naturally.

Observation: What may seem obvious, took a keen observer to observe it when it wasn't obvious.

On YouTube there's a family who called their Detroits "Portia" and "Stella". I'll leave it to you to figure out which one was which.

Sounds like a great setup. I love the Series 60. I've got one in a motorhome. Great engine.

I remember reading about several OBX charter operators who wish Series 60s were still made. Evidently they were very popular for charter operations.

In trucks we called them the "million mile engine" because overhauls were generally around that number of miles.

I luve Susie and all her family.
Series 60 still impresses me. Just wish I could of worked on more of them.

Just not a lot of them came thru our hood requiring service.
