2015 may be a Happy New Year for those of you wishing to sell nicely maintained older boats. It appears to me that in the last 3 to 4 months, buyers have been paying what would have recently been deemed "out of the book" prices for nicer boats. I guess folks have finally wised up to what it really costs to make a turd into a princess.
There remains little to no market for junk. There is limited market and still low selling prices for anything that even hints at being a project. I have recently had buyers pronounce "project" status on a decent boat that needed carpet. The project bar is quite low.
Older boat financing seems to be opening up just a little. Most buyers are still paying cash.
