I realized after running out of water in the shower(after I fully lathered up) that I really need to fix my water level indicator or gauge.
What I have is a gauge that is about 1 1/2" wide that sits on top of the tank. When you remove the gauge assembly (looks like1-1/2 NPT) there are two metal probes that go down into the tank, at the end of the probes they make a 90 toward each other. There are two brown wires that attach to each side of the gauge and a ground that attaches to the face. It is stuck on 3/4 tank, when I remove the wires and/or take it out of the tank nothing happens.
I am not sure how this system works so I can diagnose the problem, do I test for Ohms? beat it with a hammer? drink a beer and scratch my head?
