Tank shapes on my 1981 43' DCFB.

I have a question regarding the tanks on my 43' DCFB.

There are four and they are as follows:

The most forward is a 90 gallon holding tank integral to the hull.
Aft of that tank is a 130 gallon water tank, rectangular, flat bottom and sitting on top of the keel.
Aft of that tank is a 90 gallon diesel tank, also rectangular, flat bottom and sitting on top of the keel.

All the way aft is an almost square, 285 gallon diesel tank that I know has a flat bottom and is situated under the centerline queen bed.

Am I correct regarding the forward 3 tanks?

I can confirm the locations of the tanks, on my 1979 DC but as to shape and exact size, Im clueless..I pump out the holding tank and fill the water tank once a week when we are on the boat,... Thats all I know.

My 3 forward tanks are arranged in the same order, but the capacities are different (at least the published capacities) from your numbers. I’ve never investigated the exact shape of the tanks. Do you have the drawing set for your boat?

WPC691, I do not have drawings of the tanks.

Based on my measurement of the length and width of the tanks and what a volume of a gallon of liquid would be, I am almost certain that the water and center fuel tanks are flat on the bottom.
They are not part of the keel. I am going to assume that the the keel below the tanks is therefore hollow.

Just curious.

It is fair to say that the number and locations of the tanks has changed, since 1972, the year of my 43DCFB.

90gal holding tank center forward
130 gal or so water tank, aft of fwd holding tank
130 gal or so holding tank, centered and between engines, 6-71N's
Two (2) 188 gal (375 gal total) fuel tanks, at aft on either side.

I have the volumes from the gravings that thankfully came with the boat.

P.s., as always, note that the brass screw heads on the inlet/outlet plates, on top of the tanks, are there only to hold the plate in place, during production. They are not meant to be removed.

So you have 2 holding tanks, the forward 90 gallon and the 130 gallon centered between the engines?
