Howdy yall, been gone from here for a while, hope everyone is doing well.

My door knob on my salon door is wearing out. (1978 Hatteras SF) I noticed that all the interior doors have the same door knob / locks....

So I'm trying to take one of the locks out and swap with my exterior door....

I can get the knobs off and the front plates... But I cant seem to get the rod that runs through the door out... Does anyone know how to remove it??

Do I hammer it out or????

Thanks in advance..

Ned

You have to twist the rod as if the knob was still on it and it will slide out. (i dont want to say how long it took me to figure that out)

Wow! Thanks Art! Do you know how the inside stuff comes out??

Everything else just poped out the edge of the door on mine. the beveled tube was spring loaded.
