It was Sturgeon Bay. Sure do miss the Great Lakes, river boating is very different. Bob, glad you finally settled on a solution that works. The money you spent on fenders is cheaper than the repair you avoided.

I just bought a 13' whaler (to replace the one I just sold, long story)

It had a gash in one of the tines about 18" right through the fiberglass.

I got a good deal on the boat "figuring" (lesson learned) I could get it fixed for maybe $1000.

It ended up triple that. Fiberglass repair is not cheap! I still made out o.k. on the little Whaler though LOL.
