  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
We finally got Sweet Melissa out of the yard and back home on Friday. WHEW! Over 6 months of work in the yard, but it was well worth it. She got new Awlgrip on all exterior surfaces, all handrails/stanchions, etc removed and all bronze hardware was rechromed, all new electronics pkg with two separate MFD systems and Sat TV. We also installed Teak & Holly flooring in the galley, fwd cabin and engineroom hallway.

I'm no YachtsmanBill, but here's a quick shot the yard took as I pulled from the fuel dock that shows her new look.

WOW!!! Sweeeeeeet Melissa! She's a beauty! I know how you must be feeling. Now make a left turn at the gulf and come to florida for the shake down cruise!

I love the YF!

Congrats!

I wouldn't of been able to sleep for the week leading up to bringing her home due to being too excited.. Looks perfect.

You're right about Bill, you only put in ONE picture :}

Likes like you did a fine job! Now spend some more on that free film for your digital camera. Is that a work barge on the wall of the canal behind you?
I didnt recognize it, but I see the building roof to the south. Man its been cold up here ALREADY!! ws

Congratulations! It looks like it was worth the wait. What could you buy new with those lines? .....Nothing.

WOW!! She looks GREAT!! Nice job and thanks for sharing! ANxious to see those inside pictures.

Pretty sweet looking ride, SisterAct! I'm sure it was worth the wait.

There is nothing that comes close to the look of a Classic Hatteras. (well perhaps some of Hargraves other work). She is absolutely gorgeous.

Proof that older quality Hatteras yachts are a good deal now more than ever with the crazy high prices of new and the low prices of older classics.

THANKS guys! I am SO excited. Every time I walk up I am shocked at how fresh and clean this classic came out. The dream has come true!!!

Now it's time to fine-tune the electronics, run the video cables to the staterooms, organize storage areas, etc. We managed to pull 15 wires & cables down the radar arch (1.9" o.d. aluminum tubing) and I haven't run all the video cables yet.

Hey, anybody know how to make a Furuno PG-500 heading sensor initialize and come online?? BIG FUN!

Absolutely gorgeous!

Congratulations !!!

What a great looking boat. Like putting a new dress on a beautiful lady. Restoring these classics is a wonderful thing. Enjoy her and all the compliments you are going to get - you have a right to be proud!

Best Regards, Bob K

Congratulations !!! She looks better than new. Love to see more pictures.

Looks fabulous...congratulations. She is so bright I had to turn down my monitor brightness level!!! BRAVO....

Hey, anybody know how to make a Furuno PG-500 heading sensor initialize and come online?? BIG FUN!

What is it connected to, a 12-24 volt power supply or a NavPilot?

Thanks guys!!! I keep pinching myself to make sure I am not still dreaming.

DeeRow, the boat is 32v and the current Furuno line no longer accepts 10-40v, it is 12 or 24v so I am running the Furuno off of a 24v converter. It has not shown any heading info on the display but the heading sensor is powered up and connected. Any thoughts?

Looking at the manual, the PG-500 has two ports, both are for 6 pin cables. You need to connect the AD-10 port on the PG-500 to DATA3 on your NavNet VX2 MFD. The MFD senses the data and displays it. If you have more than one MFD, you have to configure the communications to pass heading messages on the network.

Without knowing more information about your entire system (devices: radar, autopilot, blackbox sounder, number of MFD's, etc) it is hard to offer advice.

Furuno tech support is very good. It is hard to get a real person on the line on the first call. I always have to leave a voice message. Someone always calls back within 20-30 minutes. The east coast support number is 410-479-4420 (hours 8 am - 4pm EST). The west coast support number is 360-834-9300 (hours 8 am - 4pm PST).
