Surge Tubes

I want to add surge tubes to my 41' sport fish. Anyone know how to accomplish this? As previous posts show, I am replacing my cockpit sole this spring & will have unlimites access to the bilges. (My ethanol/tank progress is waaaay behind schedule!)

Is there a formula/rule of thumb as to the length these tubes should be? I've got 454 Crusaders. Also need a source for the fiberglass tubes & wye fittings... er... or do I need to make all this from scratch???

Ford, You can buy them and any tubing you may need from Centek Industries. They also make mufflers. Their customer service and engineering staff are excellent and very knowledgable. Stan

Ford, I just removed Mercruiser 454s and still have some exaust parts, specifically the bronze Y that joins the two manifolds. If it will help...

Seaswick, I have 41c69 in East Hampton and the previous owner installed surge tubes after losing an engine while out at the canyon. You are welcome to come over and examine my his installation, just send me a pm with your phone # and I will make the arrangements. Bruce

Hey Ford

I made my own when I changed the motors. Made out of fiberglass used West system to glass them together. It was easy and a lot less money. Got the tube from Lewis Marine out of Greenport you just need someone with a account. Let me know if yo get stuck with that.
When all done rolled them with gel coat.
