This 42-foot motorized cruiser was towed into Port Dalhousie harbour Thursday night after Halton, Hamilton and Niagara police units and the Canadian Coast guard found it wallowing in the waves in the middle of Lake Ontario that afternoon. The boat’s registered owner is believed to have been alone on board when the boat sailed from Oakville Wednesday. Police divers searching a partially submerged yacht all day for the body of its Oakville owner have turned up nothing. The 74-year-old Oakville man is now a missing person case.
The boat was located Thursday at 3:50 p.m., about 22 kilometres off Port Dalhousie, or about the middle of the lake. An investigation is also under way to find out how the boat became submerged.
