steering question

[UNIQUE_NAME]

developed a leak today at the bridge steering station.
its the original dual station hynautic setup.
looks like an O ring has been displaced.
i cant find anything in the book about the O ring or what size it is nor about repair instructions.
any insight would be helpful.

It's a seal not an o ring.

Looks like my Hynautic unit. The size should be stamped on it when you remove it. The kit that had the o ring and wiper seal, along with the rest of the gaskets, cost me about $60 from Sams. I have a thread somewhere on here but although it seemed to be a simple install my helm was hard to turn after putting the part in. Took it to Southern Charm and for $400 was completely rebuilt and can turn with one hand. I have fixed alot of stuff in my life but this one was not as simple as it looked. Mine started leaking after a long night of 8' seas at the Middle Grounds. Reading Southern Charms webpage I see where their warranty doesn't cover using it as a handle in rough seas. Next time I will hang on to may a$$ instead

Southern Charm gets my vote too. They got our flybridge helm pump rebuilt and back in less than a week... they're in Florida and we're in San Francisco. CAPT Charlie is amazing...

Just send it to him and don't mess around.
