Steering gear system problem on a 58YF

DONE! PROBLEM FIXED! Actually I had 2 problems. first, i did the test Brian recomended, both steering stations wheel were solid and wouldnt turn more than a 1/4 turn. turns out the steering actuator was bypassing, I rebuilt it myself, it only had three O rings. after I reinstalled it, the wheel felt much better but it still continued to turn past the stops but this time with more force. I retraced the whole steering lines and it brought me to a manifold that had two pressure relef valves. upon inspection I realized that the internal springs were not compressing the valve enough. A few turns of each screw fixed the problem. I now have a fully funtioning steering system. thank you all for your input!

That's great. Make sure the relief valve screws are snuged up tight. They aren't supposed to be adjusted just tightened down to a firm stop.
