Hi All,

It was 8 degrees at 8 am this morning.

Went down to check on the boat around 1 pm.

Shrink wrap looked odd. Once on board I was shocked to see the reinforced 1 1/2" PVC frame had snapped in several places primarily the "ribs" that held the curve from the spine down.

What a &)@&)?86(($ mess. Took us all afternoon in 12 degree weather to re-secure the bow and the port sided.

Tomorrow we'll tackle the starboard side.

Spent a few days inland, in Ludow Vt. Last Friday -17 degrees at 0630 hours. worried about starting my diesel pick up, but it fired up. Don't think the 8-71s would have worked the same way, although at -17 it doesn't much mater.

Hot water is restored (I did check the breaker first thing and it wasn't tripped). 1 pipe did burst in forward head, the hot water feed for the sink. Not a difficult fix, fortunately. My fault, I thought I had enough heat going on the boat and I was on board monitoring. I should have turned the water system off and opened the faucets like I normally do. Lesson learned.

Hi All,

Well the frame has been reconstructed with no help from the artic winds blowing 30K while trying to man handle all that loose wrap. Amazing how some of the PVC bent to and incredible angle, while others snapped clean off.

Memo to self....self.... no more PVC
