Anyone had bad dealings with State Farm regarding your boat?
We are closing on our 79 53’ Hatteras in about a month and I’ve received 4 insurance quotes, State Farm being the lowest.
Just looking for some feedback to help with my decision.

No but haven't gotten into a claim with them

I just insured with them and a number of people I know have them. They paid claims when required no questions. I know they were by far the easiest to insure with.

No claims to date, but very easy to deal with.

No claims to date but I still don’t have a copy of the full policy as one would normally receive. After a bit of back & forth .. we established a pretty generic list of what is covered so to speak.
Nice easy people to work with.

I’m just finishing a $75,000+ claim with them. They paid off perfectly

We ran aground on an unmarked shoal. Tore up the props and blew an engine. Very bad day. The admiral remembers it as the day I didn’t lose my cool, yet somehow a good portion of a bottle of bourbon disappeared later that night.

So sorry for the grounding Those that have and those that will, right? I’m looking to switch to State Farm and I’m concerned about their claims process. Good to know you’re having a good experience from a claims standpoint.

They only asked for confirmation from the marina, mechanic and the prop company. They also asked for photos. Handled completely by phone and email. I never saw any adjuster. They transferred the money directly to my checking within days. They did say that the claim needed to be under $100,000 to able to do this. Evidently a cut off of some kind before it gets a bit more closely examined?
