Starlink High Performance Antenna Cover

I have the Starlink High Performance Antenna (Gen 3) and I plan on installing it on my 53’ Hatteras hardtop. I would like to have a protective cover to protect it from birds/hail and to keep moisture out of the connection. I have searched the internet, but can’t really find what I want. Any recommendations? Do I need a protective cover at all? Thank you.

Some folk have been using old sat dish domes.

They re pretty much designed to be installed exposed to the element. My only grip is that they put the cable connector on the forward edge instead of putting underneath. We put some sealant on it when installed 18 months ago. So far so good

Not aware of any specific covers although as Ralph said some people have installed them inside gutted domes

We have the original SL purchased 3 years ago. It’s been mounted on the arch with no issues. SL might have hit a bridge, got knocked off its mount and hit the floor. Put it right back up and works like nothing happened. Oh and it works in motion up to 19kts.

The new mini has a built in router which makes set up a snap. Price should be 250 to 300. Not sure if the monthly cost will be lower.

I started using Calyx a few years ago. It is a mifi router that works off of the Sprint/T-mobile/ ATT networks. As long as I am within 5 miles of shore I have all of the bandwidth I want. It is true unlimited data. No throttling and no limits. It costs me about $500/ year. Last year we circumnavigated Michigan and went to Put-In-Bay and never once lost internet. We can stream Netflix on two different TVs day after day as well as listen to streamed music non stop
