spring maintenance

Do you have a slip at your house? If so, I am envious.

I was looking at the HEs yesterday. I wish that on the B series engines, the end caps were easier to get to. It is hard to get to the bolts that hold them on. Not great packaging. Are they better on the C series? The gear coolers and aftercoolers are not difficult; the HEs, well, it could be better.


:confused: I am confused here mine are so easy I just popped one off the other day when I unscrewed a zinc and it stayed behind. Pushed it out cleaned it put it back together maybe 5 mins and I was thinking how nice it comes apart? One bolt and the covers come off.
 
I should clarify this. The end caps are indeed one bolt each. It's not that. It's that they've got other things RIGHT next to the end caps so the one bolt on each end is difficult to get to. I still have time if I decide to do it. But it's a pain- there is barely room to get a wrench in there, let alone back the bolt out and then put it back in.

The systems are dry right now. If I am going to do it, it will be now.

Do you have the 370s or 330s? I have the 370s. Maybe there is a difference based on when they were made.
 
Mine are 330 B's
