Anyone know where I can find a speedometer shop in the miami area? If you've been following the tach repair thread, I've found that the cables closely resemble certain speedometer cables, and am looking for a source.

Thanks!

have you tried truck parts ? napa, etc? i wonder if they woudln't have one, although maybe not long enough.

Ed, I have had good luck with Lauderdale Speedometer (http://lspeedo.com). They were a tremendous help with the tach trouble that I was having. Hopefully they can help you as well!

GOOD LUCK!

If I can't find something closer, Lauderdale will work, thanks for the reference.

NAPA or other parts stores, will only work if I have a part number, or make and model.

Speedometer (got to be careful not to abbreviate that one on the forum) shops can often make cables to lenght, or at least have familiarity with the types of drive ends and connections out there.

A good transmission shop will have the knowledge as well. I'm just flying blind down here for this kind of thing....

order the cables from Glendinning. They use a certain brand and they orient the cable for in and out.

Here's the scoop on these cables from Glendinning.

They are standard tach drive cables, (mine are the same on both ends) but best made with a beefier core than a "normal" application would need as there is more load on them (I'm guessing due to the sync mechanism they are driving)

They referred me to Lauderdale Speedometer on Marina Mile.

Called them, and they will have one made up in a couple of hours.

A 6' cable is $75. Not cheap, but it will be right, and should last.
