Source for a line drawing???

I am trying to locate an accurate line drawing of the 1979 43C to send to the printer. I am having some T-shirts and other swag made and I want them to have an accurate likeness to the boat. I tried my hand at tracing a photo on my computer, but with my skills it looked like a 4-year old did it.

Why settle for a line drawing when you can have the real thing?

Contact the Deep River Traders dept. of Sam's on this site, send them a digital photo of your boat, and they can put it onto a t-shirt (or whatever) for you in full color. They've done some for me and they turned out great. Great pricing too.

Didn't realize they had them, especially for free. The 58TC sure doesn look different without a bridge huh? Not sure if I like that or not.

I'd love to have a big line drawing like that (with a bridge) that would be suitable for framing.

Deep River does a nice job - but I'm happy to put a shameless plug in for my company as well. We normally do this on a larger scale for corporate clients, but I'm happy to help out fellow HOF'ers.

Also, another option if you're in a hurry is that Deep River does have quite a few items in-stock and ready to ship. No, they won't have your boat name on them, but they've got a pretty good selection.

I'm sure the height/width ratio got skewed in that attachment, but the drawing actually makes the boat look stubby. No doubt it would long longer without the bridge. Bridge or not, she's a very pretty boat... the prettiest Hatt ever IMO.

I agree 100%. I have never been a big fan of the 58TC (except for YachtsmanBill's because of the cockpit) but honestly that line drawing truly looks like what I think of as a formal "Classic" MotorYacht, much like a Trumpy or other high end motoryacht from a bygone era. If I didn't know it was a Hatteras, I would think it is a wooden boat because the layout is one that was polular long before Hatteras produced it for a short 5-year production run.

Obviuously, the much more successful design from a sales perspective was the unbeatable layout of the 53MY (the most successful MotoryYacht of all time) which was built from 1969 all the way through 1988.

With respect to line drawings, that is indeed the best place to start when designing artwork for your boat. I took the factory line drawings directly off of the Hatteras Owners Manuals for both my 41TC and my 58YF along with a current picture so that the artist takes what the factory built then adds the specifics of your particular boat to make the artwork truly accurate and "yours".

Look in your box of schematics. There should be a graving plan with a line drawing of your boat.

Years ago, when Jack Hargrave was still alive, his company was kind enough to send me the Profile and Arrangement line drawing for the 36 convertible. It still hangs over my fireplace. Mr. Hargrave had a very fine eye for drawing a boat, and (if you've read the book on his boats) was a very good artist as well. The lines drawings of Hatteras yachts are really quite beautiful; I totally understand why you want one of your boat.
