Looks interesting indeed. The Italians have been incorporting louges at the bow for a few years now, WITH a sunpad which this one is missing

I don't know what they re thinking but the damn site doesn't let you access the full version from an iPhone... Sites usually have a link to override the browser/OS detection, Hatteras doesn't and the new boat isn't on the I version...

Hatteras is on to something with this model. Of course it's aimed at the very well heeled boater, but perhaps they will get back to sizes for us po folks. I do like the new 95 a lot and in about 20 years or so I may be able to afford a 2012 model, but of course the price of fuel will probably be about $10.00 a gal. Oh wait, in 20 years I'll be getting close to 100 years old and I will probably need some hired hands to help me run the boat....lol....... Seriously I do wish Hatteras the best with this new model.

Guys this is the new 95RPH from Hatteras, their new flagship. I actualy got the full specs on it with all the different floor plans form a Hatteras insider back in May, 2011 but I was told not to share. I am glad they are finally releasing it to the pubLic.
The real notable thing about this boat is that it will replace the outgoing 100MY and will somehow cost significantly LESS than the less than stellar selling 100MY. Just give it a couple of decades and this will be the boat that all the HOF'ers will be owning and dealing with!

I actually spoke with head of marketing at Hatteras a few months back and we chatted about this potential new project. I am really glad that they brought if forward.
The current Motor Yacht line (other than the 100) that came out in the early 2000s frankly looked terrible. The designs are so out of proportion and poorly styled compared to many of the offerings from European and Asian Yards.The 100 model which is the only handsome MY in the lineup was quite a stale design. This new design looks absolutely terrific! It has a terrific layout that is spot on especially with the on deck master. One of the neatest features is the drop down starboard bulwark that becomes a mini balcony. It will result in some really cool views for those seated in the Salon when at anchor. This feature has been incorporated into some of the Custom Line and Ferretti Yachts.
I am thrilled to see that there is a USA alternative to the European and Asian yachts in the 90-100 range. I am going to investigate this yacht more as I have been on the sidelines working my butt off building my Middle East business up. This boat could be just the ticket for relaxation.
The only problem that I see for Hatteras is the price point. Hargrave, Horizon, and Ocean Alexander are in the 7-8.5 price range. When I spoke with Hatteras last summer they had the old 100 design priced around 10 (which I think is a bit high). I think part of the problem is the factory's policy of using dealers (no one is really going to stock one of these) that does nothing but add a layer of cost on to the boat. Anyone buying one of these boats is looking at a semi custom project.. which is what Mike Joyce and Michael D at Hargrave has done quite well. The Jimmy Bob boat salesmen at Marine Max is clueless when it comes to working with owners and wives who will be the buyers. I don't know how Hatteras will get around this.
