I've been through one roll of silicone tape and like it. I found it on Genuinedealz, and then on Amazon. It sticks to itself and appears to fuse into a solid tube when wrapped around say a hose or large electrical wire. Kind of a post connection shrink tube of what ever diameter you choose. It did a great job of repairing the torn wire reinforced plastic air duct for the generator air supply.
The stuff is claimed to be a good electrical insulator. I notice that there are places where insulation on my battery cables has deteriorated from exposure to diesel (welding cable?). I wonder how well silicone tape would work in providing additional electrical insulation for these battery cables.
The only failure encountered was when I attempted to use it to repair a hole in the high pressure hose on my pressure washer. 2000 psi went through it like kleenex. Before I get too carried away, anyone know the limitations on this stuff.
Thanks
