There's all kinds of ways to skin a cat. I'm curious though--how wide is the gap between the exhaust pipe and the water jacket on that showerhead? When I built mine recently, I decided on a combination that gave 1" of water between the two pipes.

I like the way the holes are facing. And with that much water they should never plug. Great job
 
I have the same boat and engines and had that exact exhaust. Do yourself a favor and plug the end of the exhaust and add water to the wet side inlet of the shower head and check for leaks. I had several hairline cracks that sprayed water outside of the exhaust into the bilge. It was also evident after pulling the heat blanket off you could see salt deposits. I opted to have new exhaust risers fabricated out of heavier gage stainless steel. If no leaks your good to go. The heat blankets in that picture are not the original ones. They were added sometime but are good quality ones.
