Shifter and Throttle control wires

Looking to replace my throttle and shifter wires both for helm and flybridge on my 1975 58’ YF. Is there a resource I can fin out specific model for these, without starting to dissemble? Are model numbers stamped on ends?

Throttle and shifter wires on a 1975 boat? If it's original it should have type 33 cables which would have markings on the casing stating length. Some brands of type 33 cables are better than other brands and I'm sure many on here will provide opinions. Strangely we've had great success with Yamaha OEM type 33 cables. Needed a cable in a hurry and the only one we could get was from an outboard shop, it was so good we changed them all which would have been 2001.

Look in either end for the embossed numbers. If they are hard to read wipe them with a little white paint, and the white paint will go down into the embossed numbers. The best ones that I found our Volvo cables you can tie them in knots and pull them as tight as you can, and the cable still glides freely. This is definitely a two-man job so make sure that you’ve got plenty of help.
