This time of year the California spiny lobster season is in full swing. Last weekend I was piloting at night and ran into a mine field of lobster pots. Unfortunately one got wrapped around the port prop. I was able to shut off the engines before any real damage was done. My buddy, who is a commercial diver jumped in the water at 2am and cut the pot loose. I can't thank him enough but for the future I've been looking at shaft line cutters. The two I'm considering are the Shark and Piranha which are easy to install on the shaft while the boat is in the water.
Has anybody tried either of these?
