Whoa- the return of Sextants and Compasses! Well, at least Compasses and Pencils. I would recommend shooting with Sextants as well!

I know this is covered under "It happened Again", but thought I would post this specific story.

if dead reckoning was good enough for captain bligh, one of the all time masters of navigation and seamanship, its good enough for these boys. wholeheartedly agree with this move to cross reference electronic nav.

I didn't need a government investigation to figure that out.

Aside from the recent ship/ship collisions in 2013 the USS Guardian, a mine sweeper ran aground in the Philippines and in 2005 the USS San Francisco struck an under water mountain killing an American Sailor.
