Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
I have been helping my friend repower/refit his 1974 45c for some time now and we are nearing splash time, we are trying to determine prop size. Our power package is the Cummins M11@670hp through 1.75:1 gears. Between the prop shop and boatdiesel prop calculator we have come up with 26X32 4 blades. Any input?

You may be able to get a rough idea by PMing CaptCoop, who has similar engines, but in a Series II 45C. Also, try the search function; he may have posted something about this, a while back.

I have the same engines in the 45C 1985 model with 1.5/1 trans. and 26X30 three blades. The engine load with these props is only 94%. I would say that you are at the correct starting spot with the 4 blade 26/32. Good Luck

Contact a PropScan rep or Veem Propeller dealer about the Veem 4-blades. Awesome wheel worth every penny (IMHO). They can input your info to the computer and tell you what might work best. If you need the name of someone try Steve King at Black Dog Propellers in Stevensville, MD 888-558-0921 www.blackdogprops.com. He has done right by us us for many years. Tell him those nimrods sent you. :D
