Seacock question

[ESCAPE PLAN]

Most of my seacocks for the heads are currently frozen in the open position.most of the handles are missing,stripped. What would be the drawback of adding a seacock onto the existing one?

Have you tried to lube them up and add a little heat first?

Yes,i have tried both to no avail.

You can add one to the hose temporarily, but on your next haul out, I would replace them completely. That to me is a huge safety issue.

That is the plan, logistically i cant make it happen for awhile. im thinking the closer i add it to the existing one the better. Am i mistaken?

Please don't lean on them to hard while in the water. Wait till next haul before really leaning on them.
Hopefully on your Santa List, you wished for new sea-cocks and fittings..

Unfortunately,no. I got a complete sanitation system from the smart toilets to the purasan ex.
Of course i have to install it, then the new windlass.

Won't you have to haul it to install a 2nd peacock? If you can't shut the existing ones, how will you shut off water flow while you install the new ones on the existing water hose?

Doesn’t flow that fast and there is very little pressure. I’ve changed sea oks and transducers in the water all the time. You can easily plug it with a rag. People are way too paranoid about this.

I have nightmares about those kind of things. Replacing those things would be so comforting and mechanically prudent.

I've replaced shaft packing in the water. At first it seems crazy and you work really fast, then you realize that its not more water than the bilge pump can handle and you sweat a little less.
