SeaClear (free) Navigation Software

Anyone used this?

I just recently downloaded the software (free).

From what I understand it's a software that interfaces with ENC (electronic navigation charts) like the ones free at the USCG.

Which brings up another issue: are USCG ENCs temporarily suspended? (I just attempted an attachment and only got a statement that "complex issues are involved").

I downloaded it also, I have Capt voyager and do like it more but the Seaclear is not bad for Free!!!!
So free software free charts on line couple hundred bucks for hardware and you have a 15" or bigger chartplotter!!!! Hard to beat even If you just want it for a second setup.

Last year we brought a boat up from Jupiter to Ct and had a laptop loaded up with Seaclear. We used it as a backup. The most use was that if we were heading to a more confusing area (stuck on ICW for 6 days!) one of us would go down to the salon and "look ahead" at what was there and what options we had.

It never hurts to have another nav feature, especially if it is free!

Dont forget the one that i smarkeyed by the old indian tribe from Brooklyn Fugawi. Its a nice free reader too.
