i have posted that i was looking for helm seats. someone sent me a PM saying that bfdfirefighter had a pair for sale and gave me a seperate email of dodgers4life. i sent a PM to bfdfirefighter confirming it was him and also sent an email to other account. bfd never responded but i did have a phone call with the party. clearly indian scam trying to sell me a set of stidd seats.
they couldnt answer any boat questions and this is clearly a scam.
initial person to contact me was gregbent31 fron the forum
they are trying to use bfdfirefighter16 account
and the email is dodger4life
the phone number used is 858-367-5076
moderator can you look into it to protect others and buyers beware.

also, still looking for helm seats

Also found a scam on turbo blankets for 12V71s. I spoke to the guy in Houston, Texas. I could hardly understand his English. It seem to be a little fishy so I backed out. The next thing I know I see the exact same photographs on another site and the guy is in Colorado. When I question him about the exact photos on another site in Texas, he backed away and stopped returning my calls. Watch out.

These scams have been going on for years in the classic car world with either cars or parts being advertised by scammers who pick up pictures for legit listings. I don’t buy anything from someone I don’t know or who is personally recommended unless it’s in person.

Ugh…just happened to me on a set of Slane vents.

Sorry, you guys. I don't have any control over these ass----s as fara as I know. If you can find a forum member identity I can kick them off, just let me know by PM or email.

Incidentally, this happened to me a few weeks ago on FB mktplace on a Nardi steering wheel. But PayPal got me my money back and somehow clawed it back from the jackass who took it.

PayPal is good for the buyer not so much for the seller. Never use any other like Zelle to pay people you don’t know.

its too pervasive to be avoidable at this point. for me if the deal is too good it raises flags for me. i always insist on on talking the phone and ask alot of questions. my situation , i asked what the seats were off of and asked alot of questions regarding the boat attached to their profile. it literally was a middle eastern guy trying to do a southern accent. pretty funny actually. couldnt answer any basic hatteras questions.
research the sellers profile and ask lots of questions over a call. has worked 100% for me so far

also, in hindsight, the scammer in my case reached out using a real members id but with a different email. i sent a note through the forum but that member never responded. as another fail safe only communicate through the forum. the members id that was used has a detailed and long history and i should have known something wasnt right when they never responded to me.
