Oh yeah, swim platform is ready, and I'll be picking that up tomorrow along with a new fuel pump. Should have both bolted on by the end of the day and will be dropping her back in the pond. I told the boy I would wait until he came back to move the boat, so Saturday will see us headed back down river.

Can't remember the name or boat details, but there's supposed to be a 140 footer up here from Alabama to watch the game. I'll bet I could PT-109 it with my Hatt, and the Vol Navy would probably pay my bail AND buy me another boat out of gratitude. :D

The boat looks great Randy, please take lots of pictures when you move her. I know little about the river cruising around your area and the scenery is always so beautiful. I also vote for leaving the transom blank and letting your boat "choose" her name. :)

PS Did you ever get your 72 Blazer fixed up?

Thanks, Tom, I'll take some pics on the way home as the colors are getting pretty good here in the valley right now. As for the Blazer, she's good as new after that tree fell on her a while back. Here's a recent shot of her topless. Oh yeah, we celebrated our 35th anniversary together this past July.

The Blazer looks very nice, congratulations on keeping it for 35 years.

Well, today didn't quite go as planned. The fuel pump didn't show up, and the swim platform isn't exactly right. It's going to take some tweaking (as in cutting supports to fit), but what else is new?

The powdercoat guy got carried away and gave it a second helping. Normally that would be a good thing (I guess), but it pretty much cancelled out the metalizing that was done to add texture. Haven't decided how I'm going to address that, but I'm thinking along the lines of snap on carpet.

What's wrong with snap on carpet on a swim platform? It's comfy on bare feet and bare butts, and it's not like it would be left on while underway. Provides better footing when entering/exiting the boat too.

Why not ask the powder coat guy to correct his mistake?

It seems too obvious to me.

I'm actually thinking about having the powdercoat guy try again as the paint match isn't even close. We're talking refrigerator white that glows in the dark!

Still waiting to get the swim platform situation resolved, but I did take a little ride in the go fast today. Here are a few pics including one really big girl I saw returning from the UT/Alabama game.

My SS20 Allison cruising at 55. Just about to get her dialed in and saw 82 on GPS today before I backed out of it.

This old gal ('79) has some lines too. :)

The business end.

Just a quick update as I pulled this thread up to see if I had posted pics which are now entombed in a crapped out laptop. Not sure I'll need them, but the insurance company for the runaway runabout owner is still playing the "Act of God" card.

Looks like this thing may be headed to court, though it will have no impact on me beyond wasting my time. I've spoken by phone with the attorney who is handling the subrogation for State Farm, and I addressed today (at his request) an email from the opposing attorney. It's almost comical reading his take on this, but hopefully it'll go away without involving me any further.

They will pay. It's their job to fight you. Once they see you're not giving up I'm sure you will get a new paint job. Just don't give up.

I got paid a long time ago, but now it's just a matter of State Farm recouping their loss. They're actually agreeing to take a big hit just to keep it out of court.

What do they think will happen the next time? Will you be charged back with the accident? I had an auto claim that they pulled that and my company took the hit and raised my rates.

This won't have any bearing on me. The only thing that happened which cost me more money was State Farm insisting I raise coverage amount on my boat. Can't see how they could hold it against me that somebody damaged my boat while it was setting in a covered slip. Hard to believe it's taken this long to get to this point with these companies fighting it out.
