My neighbor was nice enough to let me park my 1968 38' at his dock for a week while we did some work on our dock. I plugged in to his AC mostly to maintain the batteries. I went over to check things out after it had been there a week and I heard a faint buzzing from the Electrical Panel. Occasionally, there would be a more pronounced - but very brief (< half second) buzz. It's definitely coming from the polarity alarm. What condition can exist on the boat which could cause an intermittent alarm like this? I didn't have a polarity tester with me, but I have to assume his power is correctly wired. On the other hand, I turned off all the breakers as well as the main breaker and it still buzzed. BTW, I had to leave before diving in, so I disconnected the AC. Anyone ever see this? What would be an orderly method of bugging this problem out. Do polarity alarms themselves ever fail?
