  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
I just ordered a replacement icemaker kit for a Uline and have a question as to how difficult these are to replace once it arrives. The motor on the existing kit is shot and seized up and I couldn't free it. I'm assuming I'll have to remove the unit from it's cabinet mount to get to the wiring in the back. Has anyone done this and how difficult is it? It's a B195 from the late 90's.

I just did this. It falls under "caveman" skill set. Pull your ice maker and set atop the bar. That's tip 1. Instructions come in the ice maker. If memory serves me, it's a few screws in the back, a few screws inside. Another tip is to make sure the ice tongs inside the maker are down. There is a screw that you can turn. It's in the instructions. Plan on about 30 minutes if you've never pulled one out. Have a bucket and rag at the ready when you disconnect the water line.

Agree, it's an easy fix - I replaced the motor in mine two years ago. I sold the entire unit last year; it worked great but I wanted to replace it with one of the new fangled small units in order to be able to make clear ice.

Just did mine too. Just make sure you thoroughly clean all of the adhesive from the underside of the motor. The kit comes with a tube of the stuff to reinstall. Pretty basic as the others said.
