Today I am attempting to install the new hertz meter I received from Sams. The face of trhe meter matches the old, but the back is different. The old meter has a black barrel attached to the back of tthe meter with a bunch of what looks like transistors in side. It also has a small white cube attached to it. The new one has none of this stuff.

The attached pictures show the old one with the black barrel on the back, as well as the new white one that doesn't have that barrel. Does anyone know what that stuff in the barrel is for and if it's necessary? Maybe the new meters don't need it. old hertz meter.webpNew Hertz Meter 1.webpNew Hertz Meter 2.webp

I went ahead and hooked up the new meter. I started up the gfenerator and the new meter worked fine. Apparently all that stuff on the back of the old meter is no longer necessary.r
