I was thinking to re-paint my 37c completly. I would like discuss with your opinion if some people have done the same experience.
problem?....surprise?....quality?....and an idea of pricing!
I would like know something before going to ask to some yard the total cost for a new make-up for my little " baby"...

A GOOD paint job from the waterline up, done by a professional yard in the USA, will run approximately $1000 USA per foot or about $37000usa for a boat like yours...NOT cheap...but sure looks nice...

1000 $ per foot?????? it seems to be a little tooo much expensive. Have you done this job on your boat?

Mine was done in 1995 and the cost back then was $45000 done by a very good yard using Awl Grip from the waterline up, including decks and superstructure. But prices have gone up quite a bit since then. That $1000 per foot I mentioned is a good round number for4 a high quality job at a local yard here in the USA.

1000 per foot for hull and topside is going to be the going rate. Hull is easier than the top side due to flat surfaces.

I had my 76 36C done 3 years ago and it looks awesome now! Went with Awl Grip Snow White....and man is it bright white!!!! I would do it all over again in a minute!
Here's a pic of it in the barn right before the half tower went back on:

Just painted our 48 last winter. Pricing is a tough subject until you define "completely". Such items as, how much hardware gets removed versus masked, do you paint the inside of exterior cabinets, what gets recaulked in the process, scratch and shoot job versus a full sand/prime/sand/topcoat, etc. If you can get the best of all cases, and have it looking like new for a long time, for $37K complete from hauling to relaunch, from a good reputation yard, you should grab it before they have time to change their mind. Lot of money, but being a retired guy, I watched mine being done almost daily. It is a big job to do it right.

Pete

$1000 per foot is the going rate but right now yards are willing to cut deals. I know someone who just had the topsides done on a 46' MY for 16K. 3 years ago, that same yard quoted me 50K+ to paint my 46C.

nice job Ohiohatteras!
did you change window and door too?

You also may want to consider the guys that are laid off. I have a guy who has done a phenomenal job on my 34'. He has done a huge amount of fiberglass work and is almost done with the 545 primer. Should be painting soon. Paying him $30/hr. all said and done the entire job will be about $10,000.
