Now that is how it's supposed to look!!! Outstanding!

who did the work for you it looks great

Nice- now you need to get a nice zippered canvas cover for it. I've got one and still need to polish the light ~3x a year to keep it looking that way.

Wow!! That looks great!

Many years ago, I used to work on old Navy Dead Reckoning Tracers (DRT). They had many gears, and belts. Other than the X, Y worm gear we were able to find most of the parts from the following outfit:

If in the future you or someone else runs into this problem, you may want to see if berg offers what you need (no affiliation).

I took the the light apart a la Sky's example of a few years back, then took the pieces to a place in Toronto, who re-chromed all the pieces. I sent the reflective mirror to New York to have it re-silvered. The problem with that was, some of the back surface was stained too much to get a 100% result on the re-silvering, but it came out a lot better than it was.
Chroming was $400 and re-silvering was $50.

I'm having a new cover made as we speak.

Dreamboat, your searchlight is awesome! I have same model and it needs a rechrome job too. I am in Toronto area, who did the rechrome for you? I may have mine done next year too.

John

I had it done at Jim's Polishing and Buffing. You can google the website and address in Scarborough.

Super! Thanks!
Jims is where a friend of mine said to go too, so its a win.
