This guy wants to be updated either by refurbishing or replacing. It's an original Rayline and maintaining the boat's original character would suggest refurbishment - where does one have this done?

What is a cost guesstimate vs purchasing new?

Also, what is the best paint / method for repainting the teak base?

Thanks!

You can do it yourself for next to nothing. Or you can have them refurbished for around $1500. Does it work at all?

Most likely it will need to be completely disassembled and the motors (2) removed/cleaned/lubed and new clutches installed. You can't actually disassemble the motors but you can disassemble the little gearbox attached to each which is usually badly gunked up.

The are threads on this - do a search and you should be able to find my post of this from a couple of years ago which also describes finding a bad diode in the power supply. The diode cost me 60 cents to replace.
