Raritan Atlantes, should I?

Figured I’d tap the brain trust here. I’m in the process updating my black water system (new hoses, tank, etc) and when I pulled out the head to remove the discharge hose it appears the toilet hasn’t been out in a long time, maybe never. This is an original ‘A’ series Atlantes fresh water flush (prolly early 90’s), it works great and has given me zero problems. Since the system is apart should I?
A. Install a seal kit?
B. Replace impeller and macerator + seal kit?
C. Replace it with new modern toilet?
D. Leave it alone.
We have only one head onboard so reliability is golden. Are there parts that tend to fail? Like water valves, motor, control board, etc? What’s your opinion. Thanks

I have replaced all three of my heads with Jabsco quite flush, 12 volt, heads and one is now 12 years in service. They only require a 25 amp fuse. The only part I have changed is the joker valve, it's not expensive.

Mine are in service in a northern boat. Only used 7 months a year or so. But I can tell you the crew has been consuming alot of liquids, no one says thirsty on board.

I would call Raritan tech support and ask. They are fabulous. We have 3 of the same units, and in 15 years only had to buy an electric valve.

I had these toilets on a 43 DC when they first came out and I think they are excellent pieces of equipment.
In all the years that I owned that boat they never failed me. Previous poster made a good suggestion, to
reach out to Raritan Tech support.

Thanks. I spoke with Raritan this morning, nice folks but it seems this model is becoming obsolete. Instead of stocking $500 in spare parts for an old toilet I’m just going to buy a complete new unit, leave it in the box plus store it onboard, then run my old Atlantes till it dies. With a new unit ready to install this old head is guaranteed to last decades

I know Raritan is a few more $$ but my Atlantes is 20+ years old and looks like it’s never been out for service. I’ve had to tinker with pretty much everything on the boat except this toilet. Plus the support I’ll replace with another Raritan.
