That's good information Dwayne and I had heard that's how it worked in at least some of the locks on the Mississippi. It was my understanding they had floating bollards, but only commercial traffic was allowed to use them
Two questions for you, how large a drop is there in these locks going downstream, and how do they handle barge traffic with no floating bollards?
