Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
One of my evaporator coils iced up over the weekend. Upon inspection after melting the ice the coil fins were quite dirty, this particular coil is hard to get to as the face of the coil is buried in the back of a cabinet and I was hoping to use a no rinse type of cleaner that uses the condensate from operation to perform the rinsing function. I've seen expanding foam products from Carbonex and Viper products but would like some feedback on success from anyone that's tried them.

Low on freon also if it's icing up ................Pat

Freon level is fine, been checked. The lack of air movement across the dirty coils has caused the condensate that naturally forms on the coils to not drain quickly enough before it freezes causing ice damming. I'm looking for others experience in the best cleaning product (non acid if possible) based on the accessibility of this particular evaporator.

My A/C company gave me two cans of Web Coil Cleaner as they said it was the best they had found.
It does required being hosed down though.. I just got my 1 gal pump up tank and used it to wash it out... Did a good job on all 3 units.
