Power Cord Question

One of my Dock neighbors gave me four shorepower cords. Two of them are 25 feet the other two are 100 feet. They are labeled as 125/250 50A. Will that work on my 1989 to 240V boat?

Yes , great neighbors . I have been told that 100 ft is the longest cable you can have and still have the full 50 amps . Does anyone know if this is true ? Also , the short cables are very handy to have .

Just to make sure your neighbors are golden, check the ends for corrosion, burn/arc marks and the cord itself from flexibility, tears, etc. I'm running a relatively new 90' cord.

Just make sure they are not twin 125v 50a as opposed to 250v 50a cords. The outlets/connectors are different and they are not compatible with a 250v shore power.

This. Forgive the amateur language, but the 220/50A cord has two "outies" on the "hooked" terminals, whereas the 110/50A plug has one.
