  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
the port side 671 natural is wanting to die at normal idle .normal is 500-600 is normal . if i move to700 -800 rpm dying issue subsides .could this filter related or is ther e adjustment nuts on throttle linkinge any thoughts are apperciated thanks
 
Just a thought, have you checked the Racors for that engine. If they are starting to clog, engine will run but die at idle.

Racors are usually the primary fuel filter. Sometimes factory or delivering dealer installed, sometimes installed later in life.
Racor or not, there is usually always a primary AND secondary fuel filter.

Yes, old and clogged fuel filters can cause idle problems.
Replacing the fuel filters may also be the quickest and cheaper step in troubleshooting for the capable Do It Yourself owner.

These primary and secondary filters come in different sizes.
Try to find part numbers on what you have to help guide your replacement purchase. Send us pictures if in doubt of what your looking at.
