  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
After installing clear plexiglass from the railing dow.
I am now making removable panels to enclose the upper half.
The view is much better than isenglass and the costs to me is in the hundreds$
Instead of thousands$.
The panels ( 6 of them) also are easy to stow alongside the weather boards.

What is the weight of each panel ? Looks great !

Very light.
1X2s and 1/8 inch plexiglass.
I first tried just 3 panels, but that was to unwieldy.
So now 6 panels.

That’s pretty slick, I bet it really improves visibility when docking.

Nice! Post more pic's as you go :) I Think you are on to something!

How do you attach the panel to the overhead?

2 Dowel pins are glued into the rail of each panel. Corresponding holes are drilled into the hollow ceiling.
Spring loaded pins on the bottom rails into holes drilled into the top of the railing.
To install or remove the panels swing outward from the bottom.
