Pilothouse Door Glass

We had to replace the glass on one, so we replaced both of our pilothouse door windows. There's plastic trim that pushes into the channel between the glass and the door to lock the glass into place. That plastic was original so it came out in pieces.

The company that made our doors was called Aluminum 2000 which was purchased by Pompanette but they no longer sell anything even close. I'm working with Sam's but its not looking good. Anybody have a similar problem with any success?

Have u looked at out water plastics. They have a lot of extruded plastics.

You can try CR Laurence. They are one of the biggest glazier supply houses around. If you find it please post the part number for the rest of us.

Thank you for the suggestions, I've done a search and looked at these websites. No perfect fits but some possibilities. I'll keep searching. I'm going to head over to a couple of the yacht yards on Marina Mile and see what they might suggest.

Why not shim the glass in place , caulk, let dry, then remove the shims and caulk over the whole thing?
Like a frameless window is glazed in. I realize it would make the glass very difficult to remove again but..........Pat

Were you ever able to find the trim for your pilothouse glass? If not, what did you do for a solution?

No and no solution. Widows are secure. Someone suggested affixing trim around the window to cover the gap. Once we get the boat to a more capable yard we’ll have the doors repaired.

tape it off on the glass and frame and fill the gap with silicone
