We had a chance to visit Fort McHenry in Baltimore's inner harbor in September of 2014 during the 200th anniversary celebration of the "Star Bangled Banner". It was a great event!

I must admit, there and then is when all of the words of the Star Spangled Banner had their full meaning to me.

If you have never been to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, I highly recommend it (by boat of course) and a visit to Fort McHenry!!

Thank you for the beautiful post. I am one in listening to the Star Spangled Banner and thinking of all the men and women who gave their life for our country leaves a tear in my eye. I have been at the red, white and blue buoy that marks the spot. It brings a chill down your spine.

And the fireworks display on July 4th is amazing- never seen anything better, not even in NYC.
