Curious if anyone has an onboard water filtration system installed... what are using? pros and cons?
Thanks in advance

On my last boat I installed a GE system from Home Depot. It had 2 filters that were easy to change and it's own facet. Just used it for drinking water, pretty simple to install. John

I installed a reverse osmosis system from HD in my last Chris. We couldn't drink the water without having an upset stomach. Once installed we never had to bring drinking water to the boat again. $200.00 for the system. Best money spent. It was so good I installed one at home as well.

I have filter, sediment, and charcoal cartridge. They filter all of the water used on board, faucets, dishwasher, ice makers even wash-down hose.

After seeing what the filter catches I couldn't imagine not having it.

I'm curious; those of you who have tales of bad water onboard, where did you get your water?

Change the filters once a year? Sounds great. BTW are you folks filtering all your water, sinks, showers etc and is the water filtered before the hot water heater? Considering showers and all other uses, once a year filter changes seems to be a long time.

I only use this RO filtration for drinking water and the ice maker. No more bottled water required.

No, only the drinking water.
