Onan Generator Starter conversion

Has anyone ever put a 12 volt starter on a 20KW Onan Generator? Mine presently has the 32 Volt starter, but I'm following in MikeP's footsteps in combining my battery banks which will be on the inverter and I would install a separate 12 volt battery for the starter.

You will need to change more than just the starter. I don't think it is worth it.

My was changed to 24v by previous owner. Have not had any problems for 10 years.

just a couple of things that will need to be changed. starter, alternator, fuel solenoid, any 32 volt relays and any 32 volt gauges on the generator and remote panel
