Onan 15 MDJF leak

First oil leak I have had on the 1971 vintage Onan generator. It appears to be coming from where the dipstick attaches to the block. Any recommendations as to repair. Other than replacement with a newer generator. The magnacitor was replaced with a digital controller and this beast has been very reliable and trouble free...

is your dipstick where you fill the oil also? if so, on my 1977 onan 15 kw(not sure the model) the fill/ dipstick tube cracked and oil ,leaked only when running the genset. i pulled it off of the engine and welded the crack, no more leak. it took me a while to find it though

Yes it is leaking at the fill/dipstick. Hoping it is the gasket but a crack is possible. Ordered a replacement gasket and will disassemble when it arrives...
