nice boat bud... I like the silvertons myself. Good pick i'd say... Not a hatt, but still a good boat...

Well, you can get lots of experience on that boat, and move up. Trawlers are looking good these days with diesel high and not coming down. That won't be your last boat.

Nice pics woodsong, but I don't see the missing parrot. Where is that darn parrot anyway? <gg>

hyper-
didn't know you were over here! I believe Wayne has the bird- never did figure out who the master mind was? I tried to get him back but he wouldn't do it. Oh well. Do you have a hatt now?

Def. agree with above that Lord willing, this won't be my last boat. On the contrary, I think I am still just getting started! I'm only 33 right now so I pray I've got some years yet ahead of me. Truth be told, we love our silverton and I got a ridiculously great deal on her so I can't complain whatsoever. Truth be told even further, I've had more fun in the last 5 months with my silverton than ever in my life (we've logged about 80 hours thus far).
See how stressful my life has been???!!!

Trawlers are definitely looking attractive with the cost of fuel. Really looking for something that will be economical to run but do like the idea of being able to go fast when necessary (storms, etc.). We already basically travel just at hull speed with our silverton probably 90% of the time b/c it's relaxing to take our time and it beats 65 GPH at WOT! lol

Boats of interest at the moment.....
Hatt 48+ LRC
Bayliner 4788/Meridian 490 (late model)
Possibly Hatt 53 classic or the 54
just about every trawler I see in the 48-55' range!

I'd be happy to keep the silverton for another 5 years but I'd be just as happy getting another boat by spring next year! :D

I know the answer to your question as I had a hand in the creation. Still not sure what happened to the parrot or the originator of the idea.

No Hat yet, just browsing again with the recent price drops. Having lots of fun with the current boat. Glad you are doing likewise. Was interested and a little frightened by your Hat shopping experience. Thanks for posting it.
