Old Diesel Fuel in Tanks - burn it up or clean it out?

I'm all for "burn it up!" assuming it's still burnable. I drew a sample off the bottom and confirmed I had no water, so I chose to burn it. I was considering getting some AJX to clean up my forward tank which I use for the genny since I was having to change filters a couple times a day, but I already had some Diesel Kleen on board, so I poured that in the tank. While I don't know if I've completely solved my problem, I did not have to change the fuel filter on my last outing. I've never gotten away without having to change a filter at least once during an outing, even if only for the day. So, for now, I'm happy and I'm working on burning up my old fuel.

Trojan,
You are usually on top of things, But, I have to take issue with your comment that diesel fuel isn't a lubricant. It is oil, and does lubricate. That is one reason LSD (low sulfer diesel) has been a problem on older engines. The process at the refinery that removes sulfer also has the side effect of decreasing its lubricating ability.
