Yep, you done good. The wife gives me grief about exposing my son to nothing but "head banging music", and I told her to just wait until the first time he comes home with a rap CD and get back to me.Don't feel bad for all the kids.
My son loves Hendrix, the who, zeppelin, AC/DC, Ozzie and his various incarnations along with lots of other good music. If you ask him what rap is he tells you they forgot the c.
Not bad for an 11 year old. I guess I did one thing right in bringing him up.
Well said. I was listening to Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, etc when I was a little kid. I grew up listening to a wide range of music but certainly not Pop music. I have found great new music since and continue to do so to this day. Pop music changes but it is always designed to appeal to the masses. If you have any musical taste that usually won't work for you. Here is a sample of some well written and played new music.Sorry guys but a lot of music from the 70's suked too. Can u spell D I S C O and quite honestly If I hear the Imigrant song or one more classic rock "get the led out weekend" I'm going to scream. Oh and If you want the Beatles back together again It will take 2 more bullets. Back in the 70's we used to blast gimme three steps from the bridge while we were washing the boat down. There was always some MY type with green pants would come over and tell us that he "didnt share the same taste in music" while his Admiral peered from afar.( you gota admit MY peeps deep down loath the SF types "unwashed neandrathals" as I was called once) Now being I was a nice guy I would turn the tunes off. Then I would crank up the marine weather and leave that blast half the night.
Rap went out in the 90's its r+b now.Cooing black girls and white ones that all want to sound the same.
Personaly I like a lot of the newer alternative rock, Nickleback, Foo fighters Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Kings of Leon, there are a lot of new near old school rock.
But then again I'm not as old as you guys

"Nearly all the music from the 70s sucked"... are you kidding me?"Sorry guys but a lot of music from the 70's suked too"
Actually, nearly all the music from the 70s sucked. It was around 1983-4 before people finally gave up trying (unsuccessfully) to re-make the 60s and made some good music again.
