67hat34c ,Did you read the entire sales blurb? That is a genuine Trans-Atlantic craft? That seems hard to believe. Could a boat that design/size carry enough fuel for 3000 miles? It says unassisted.

did not read any of it. would say that is a good redneck translantic boat.need the bird to come up with the proper phrase to match

I guess it could cross the atlantic sitting on the deck of a freighter. I wouldn't take it out further than I could swim back myself.

Sometime back in the 70's when they conquocted this thing they did a publicity stunt by trailing it accross the big pond with a sizeable yacht, refueling along the way, ready to haul aboard at any moment if necessary. And eventually cruised it up the Seine River with photo ops of Paris in background.

Of course, my guess is, any red blooded American upon seeing that the vessel is suited for boating in France  would have nothing more to do with it. :D

A Past Commander of one of NC's Power Squadrons had one (circa 70's), but not for long. I think he parked out behind his garage because no one would buy it and used it for a den. :D

I could see owning one of these if you were boating in.............. well mabe if you wanted to ................ or if you were going to .................or if you liked the looks of the ................. well hell cant think of a single reason why anyone would want one.

I know where there's some homeless folks who might lower themselves to live on it. Other than that, I can't think of a reason to own one either.

As well this is the only type of boat of its size and class to cross the Atlantic from New York to Paris unassisted.

Maybe I just did not see them in the pic.........where are the Oar locks ?

Kinda like riding a HONDA -- Feels good until someone you knows sees you doing it... LOL ws

Umm..., the guy is wearing a fanny pack. He also looks like he may be French. That thing could be planted on my acreage in eastern Wa as a hunting cabin, but I suppose all the deer would flee the area.

Gee wizz, and to think, all this time I had imagined that you probably drove a '53 Nash Rambler! :D :D

No dull moments. None whatsoever!

They assert that "The boat itself sleeps over 7".

Has to depend on the nationality. It's common knowledge that the French do not use deoderant. So, it logically follows that any participant boaters involved surely must come from English decent :D

Hey, no Nash bashing please. That was a good car. I sank one three times and it still ran. :D

RAMBLERS RULE !! They turned into A.M. General didnt they? ws

I think Nash and Hudson merged to form AMC "AlMost a Car." Then Chrysler swallowed them. Not sure about A.M. general, may have been the military end of Jeep. I believe Nash was the first American make to use uni-body.

AM General was turned into a Tank plant and was sold off by AMC shortly after taking over JEEP. Then Chrysler came along.

Close ! Rambler was taken out by Diamond Reo which made it Diamond T who was all bought out by CHISELER to form AMC / A.M. General. The got all the jeep and duece and a half and 5 ton military stuff. ws

We used to build thousands of military Jeeps and trucks until AMG came along. Almost went to work for them. I worked on the prototype of the 715 military truck and the 101 Jeepster. When I first started at Kaiser jeep. I almost got to work for willies Overland. My dad started in 1940 at Willies, I started in 1964. The whole Jeep plant was torn down last year. The only thing still standing is the press shop and power house. Everything being made today is made at the brand new plant about 5 miles away. There starting to remove my old power house. The one boiler we had just put in. It can't be over 12 years old at a cost of 600'000.bucks. State of the art then. How can they make money doing things like that. Bill you would have liked to have seen my power house. You like the big stuff. 14 Big boilers. 2 big steam air compressors. Each the size of a semi and 2 big electric air compressors, Each the size of a car. It would take 7 days just to shut down a boiler. Each boiler filled a spaces about 100' x 200' and 4 stories up. During the war they generated there own electric. I worked in every division in that place. A little of nostalgia. :)
