Does anyone have a Northstar 6000i or 6100i 10.4" display head that they don't need and would like to sell to me?

Mine quit working yesterday. I have an 8.4" display that I can swap in, which may work, but would like to keep the Northstar system as I am used to it and like the way it works. I also have the depth sounder which I like. Getting a new system isn't really in the budget for this year- I would have to replace the sounder, interface box, and display and GPS antenna.

If anyone has a 10.4 they are looking to find a home for, I'm right here. Or whatever you have. Thanks in advance.

i have a 6000i that I'm replacing with a Garmin unit. I think it's a 10" unit, but will have to go to the boat to be sure. Had planned to eBay it, but we could talk. Are you wanting it asap? (i'm in the middle of a home remodel and don't really have time soon to pull it)

yes, especially if it's a 10" unit and it works. They don't make keypads for these anymore and mine just bought the farm. thank you!! email me or PM me, I'll be waiting. Oh, and I'll wait for it. I have an 8.4" unit that I think still works, I can plug that one in and use it meantime. I'll know by tomorrow if it still boots up and runs.

I found a marine electronics shop in NC (Nags' Head) that still services Northstar equipment, so I am bringing my two Northstar heads to them on my way down to the OBX for a couple of days of working on my house down there. z28Jimi, when you get ready to remove yours, I do want it- just let me know when you are ready. I may be able to get another season out of the equipment I have before I have to change it all over to Garmin or Furuno.

Jim, just out of curiosity, do you have that 10" display on the bridge, and where did you find the room for it?

Let us know how this works out. I am in a similar situation with my old Northstar GPS units which I not only love, but are paid for!

For what it is worth Garmin just did something nice for me. Two weeks ago I dropped my two year old Garmin automobile GPS on a tile floor, cracking the viewing lens. Of course, just before beginning our summer driving. Being Friday, I immediately ordered a new one (upgrade) from Amazon and then emailed Garmin to ask if my old one could be repaired. By Tuesday Garmin told me that if I would send my old broken one back to them they would replace it with a refurbished one of the same model for $ 100. Almost best of all, I was able to transfer all my old waypoints and favorites from the broken one to both the new ones. I count this as good customer service.

It is on the bridge. I filled in the bridge wing areas from the helm console outwards, to make a bigger surface for instruments etc. It's been that way so long I forget they aren't all like that.

That's why I was wondering. The original layout is very limited, and I know you don't have a hardtop so it couldn't be on the overhead.

Thanks.
